Studi Literatur Pendekatan Holistik dalam Pendidikan Agama Islam di Sekolah

The holistic approach in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) emerged as a promising alternative to overcoming the limitations of conventional approaches that tend to focus on cognitive and practical aspects. This literature study aims to explore the implementation, impact, challenges, and potential development of a holistic approach in PAI in Indonesian schools. The study uses a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach, analysing a variety of current literary sources, including journal articles, books, and research results published in the last ten years. The results show that a holistic approach in PAI includes the integration of cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and spiritual aspects in learning. Implementation involves a wide range of innovative strategies such as project based learning, problem-based learning, and reflective practice. A holistic approach can have a positive impact on the conceptual understanding, the internalization of values, the development of character, and the learning motivation of learners. However, in its implementation there are challenges such as teacher preparedness, human resource constraints, and adjustments to the evaluation system. The research provides recommendations for development strategies that include improving teacher competence, curriculum reforms, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and policy support. This includes the integration of technology, the strengthening of Islamic-based character education, and the development of learning models that respond to contemporary global issues.
